Seminar at the European Commission

A number of Mistra programmes visited Brussels June 4 for a seminar on how Mistras research can contribute to the European Commission's strategic vision for a climate-neutral economy. Anna Kramers from Mistra SAMS participated.

Reaching net-zero emissions in the EU by 2050–opportunities and potential in the context of partnerships between academia, industry and the public sector.

Following the EuropeanCommission’s communication“A Clean Planet for all”,and in the context of the ongoingdiscussions on developingaLong-term climate strategy, an EU objective of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 is being debated. There is a need to demonstrate that reachingnet-zero emissions by 2050 is not only doable, but that it can also go hand-in-hand with prosperity and social fairness.
