Passenger cars are associated with considerable emissions of greenhouse gases. In this presentation, based on a paper to be published, I elaborate on scenarios for the Swedish passenger car fleet in 2030, achieving a 70% reduction in emissions as compared to 2010. While all scenarios are designed to accomplish the target, the number of shared and electric cars, how they are combined, and the levels of biofuel use differ between them. Transport volumes, amount of car-access, battery use, indirect emissions, and fleet development is evaluated and compared.
